Look what Famke brought us...I guess it fell out of its nest. Parents where nearby, but this is way to young to fly

Since the parents where nearby, and we really cant find the same caterpillars as their parents...we've put it back.
Its a hard decision (spelling? ) Because you know it will probably be eaten. But on the other hand, we would probably starve it to death.
We've raised blackbirds, pigeons and a crow succesfully, but its just not possible to find the exact kind of food she prefers

awww it's sooo cute...... i found one at my baby sitters like 10 yrs ago and we fed it as many worms as we could find but by morning it was dead...

Shanley, baby birds need a special digestive enzyme from their mommas in order to digest their food up to a certain age. (They get the enzyme when momma regurges into their mouths) So, you can feed them all they'll eat but without the enzyme they cannot process the food and it quickly ferments in their crop.
