Disgraceful that anyone would shoot at an eagle, but then again in the UK pigeon racers happily put poisoned bait out for falcons and are happy to kill peregrine falcons.

Great to see the reconstruction, they should have done it in titanium - robo-eagle.

Wow. They must have found it quickly. Raptors can starve to death in just a few days.

The nonprofit I volunteer for has a rough-legged hawk that was shot and had part of a wing amputated. Some farmers will shoot any raptor regardless of whether they'd eat a chicken or not.

Sometimes the little things make you smile.

I just called one of my girls a stomach on legs before realising my error.

That's hilarious! I so want to mimic this photo but I don't really have any snakes atm that gape or even aggressive snakes for that matter.

So I thought those long nights up with sick children were over. My youngest being 12, they all do a great job of getting to bed and staying there.
Last night was a different story as my turtle Son Tank had a restless night. He didn't want to be in his water but then again he didn't want to be out of it. I'm guessing he had an upset belly and couldn't get comfortable. At 3am I was exhausted and wanted to sleep so I got forceful with Tank, forcing him to stay in his blanket in the hopes he would tire out and fall asleep.
Have you ever tried to force your will on a 23+ pound snapping turtle? Trust me, it doesn't work. What a powerful animal. During all this wrestling he never got angry at me. He finally settled back into his water and I went to bed at 5am. I went to bed and got up at 6:30am. Short night.

Me: I'd really like to open up a pet shop some day. There's only a handful in the metro area I see a lot of complaints about them. You can't even get frozen feeders locally.
Wife: Great. Once you get that going, you can open my glow-in-the-dark minigolf business.
Me: Yeah ok. All these business books I'm reading say to try operating part time first before quitting your job.
    Wife: That makes sense.
Me: I suppose the best way to start is by learning to breed my own stock. I should also buy some enclosures from different companies to see which I like best.

Humans too get to eat on the Ranch. Lunch today was grilled chicken with grilled veggies (cabbage, vidallia onions and broccoli) .
