My flame girl gave birth yesterday to 5 babies. 1 albino, 2 flames and 2 melanistics. 1 of the melanistics has a few bad kinks on her spine

Hypo my eye. That reddish brown color appears to me to be pheomelanin which is a form of the amino acid tyrosine. It's failure to oxidise into melanin can only mean one thing. The snake has no(or defective) tyrosinase, the enzyme that is key to oxidizing tyrosine, turning it into melanin. No melanin synthesis in an animal is what albinism, or amelanism is!!! "Hypomelanistic" animals have melanin, it's just not a normal amount. This snake has no melanin at all. The snake is a T (tyrosine) positive albino.

Some amazing snakes in here. The colors are phenomenal, thanks for sharing them. Would love to have a flame somewhere down the road. Very happy with my little WC Garter baby, though.
