I think it's because Saturn is instantly recognizable as a planet. If the artist had used a different planet, half the joke may have been wasted on people trying to figure out who's diagnosing earth.

What a crazy story! I didn't like the way they portrayed the garters (seems they went with the scary, gross, dirty, disease ridden reptile slant) though I can definitly see how such a large invasion would be a big problem.
