I'm talking the age group of 18 to 30 year old. Back in the day when I was going up you were taught to respect your parents, never spoke back to elders, took pride in earning money, whether is was done by paper route, mowing yards or babysitting the neighbors kids. Now kids go to school, and are pushed through the educational system. When that bells rings at the end of the day, they pull out their i-pads & phones and spend their time texting friends, playing games or searching the internet. In sports everyone gets a ribbon for participation. And heaven forbid you raise your hand at your OWN kid who is throwing a tantrum in the middle of the store because Mom said no to the new video game. This is the generation I'm talking about. People are more worried about gay marriage and smoking dope than the important issues, meaning the economy and how it's effecting the actual day to day life. But then this country seems to have given up on Yawah God, the family unit and just about everything else I grew up with. The moral compass sucks. Ok, I'm done with my rant.

Which generation was that? Seriously. If there is such a generation, it hasn't reached voting age and even if it had, its voter turnout would be the lowest and hence its influence would be the smallest.

Well, my little "guest" is a year 'round resident. They nest on the ground in summer, preferring short lawns which is kinda stupid. There's a video on the internet somewhere of a puget sound garter feeding on them. They feed on seeds in the winter, but feed almost entirely on insects in summer. They don't visit my feeders much, if at all, during nesting season. If I find that video again, I'll post it in the "found on youtube" thread.
