Seems like my red-sided wasn't messed up, just picky. Took another scented 2-week old mouse today. Once I get her off worms, she'll never see another one again. Ever.

Glad to hear she's back on the mice again, Stefan.

Not quite there yet. She probably sees it as a big, white, fuzzy worm. Had to wrap a couple of worms around it before she took it, just rubbing them all over the mouse wasn't good enough. She was definitely interested, but didn't grab it.

Next week I'll try with 3-week old mice. One of those a week should be just right.

Sometimes, instead of scenting a mouse/pinky, I 'post' it.....just as the accepted prey (worm etc) is almost gone, I post the pinky into the snakes still open mouth. This sometimes seems to make the switch to pinkies a little quicker. I can't explain why, and it doesn't always work, but it's a good alternative to try.

Tried it already, she won't fall for it. Clever girl or spoiled brat, I really can't tell. I'd have to shove a dozen pinkies down her throat anyway, she's not a little girl anymore.

one of my babies, who'd been taking pinkie strips had stopped eating and it turned out that he's decided it was gonna be trout and properly presented(!), or no go
so my whole theory that it was clear sailing once I got them to take rodent was erroneous - they can change their minds
however my concinnus has taken to pinkies bobbing amongst her minnows, and the ratio is changing (devious chuckle)

Well, this one is obviously smarter than me. I found the first mouse today when I cleaned her terrarium, she had been lying on top of it these last couple of days. But she's still fat from the second one.

One of my ´parietalis breeders is so lazy and bored on feeding.
She open her mouth and let me push smelts and pinkies into it.
When I stop she´s just wainting. When I´m to lazy too it takes ten minutes for one fish.

Trying to write a summary on a part of the Stern Review. I have about an hour and a half to finish it, but here I am. Most of it is already done, but half of it consists of my own comments. Must figure something out..

I have to agree, Stefan! I would like to see that feeding on video too- sounds entertaining!
Isn't it funny to see all the little personality quirks these guys have?? I've had a lot of people (not snake fans obviously) ask me "So, why would you want a snake for a pet, what do they do?" Wish they could read stuff like this, then maybe they'd get it!!!!
