I think the lizard is a Five Lined Skink, Lori. Nice pics by the way.

I agree that it is a type of skink- I'm not familiar with the species in your area, but it sure is higher up off the ground than any skink I've ever found!

Lovely pics, Shannon. We have lots of red-tailed hawks in my neighborhood, but I've never seen one so pretty!

And Lori, that's some yucky fungus. Could you find any more?

By the way, a few weeks ago (I forgot to tell you), I went on a field trip to a colonial village called Beth Page Village. I saw this beautiful Garter snake guarding a hole. My friend was about to touch it but it striked at him. (The snake missed) What do you think?
