Both of my snapping turtles are pooping machines. I have to change their water at least 3 times a day. I don't want them in dirty water but I've pulled some snapping turtles out of some water that almost made be throw-up. They were covered with leeches and this mud from hell.
They were perfectly fine with it.

Here is our Tank waking up this morning. Before the kids say good morning to me they go see Tank. Tank usually yawns a few times each morning. I'm hoping to get some good down the mouth shots soon. Tank doesn't mind the camera. She's a very curious turtle and smells everything. The kids are always taking thing to her to smell. She also chased the male out of the living room the other day. She's very territorial with him but doesn't seem to mind the dog. The male on the other hand goes after our dog. The dog just jumps on to the couch.

She's a growing machine. The amazing thing is she did all that growing with a very heavy parasite load.
Now, she's clean and she can devote all her food to growing.

Here is my only living Wasatch Reptile Expo pickup, though if I had more room one of Don's melaninistic (sp?) plains would have come home too.

If that is the one I think it is I was very tempted to get a pair. I was also tempted by the Pyros the same guy had.

    Good looking girl.
