Found a puget sound garter yesterday. Yellow dorsal stripe, light blue lateral stripes, face, and throat. Not the stunning blue ones, but still a handsome snake with a fair amount of blue. There's only one problem, it was a freshly killed D.O.R.

At least I know I'm looking in the right place. I'm sure I'll be up to my knees in them when we finally get some sunny days in the 70's.

Weather is still just too cool, cloudy, and blustry yet for good herping, but it can't last forever even though it seems like it.

Watching Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. A very nice looking Wandering garter snake in a scene. Comes out of his sleeve when he's fighting on top of the train at the beginning of the movie.

It's funny how with movies...I watched that when I was younger and I never would have paid attention to the fact that it was a garter snake. Now if I were to watch it, I would notice something like that right away. I remember I was watching a scene in Dexter last winter and they found a body with snakes in it...and I was squinting at the screen and trying to figure out what kind of snakes they were...trying to see if they could possibly be garters.
