Actually, the mellow personality was why I wanted a Rosy. Love the garters & corns but you have to pay a lot of attention to them when you are handling them. I'd babysat a baby Ball python for a few months & really loved his temperament, but I didn't want a snake that got that big. So a desert Rosy is perfect, the temperament I want & he is unlikely to get bigger than 2'.

2? I don't know about desert rosies but I used to catch coastal rosies in San Diego county that were around 4 feet.

Coastal rosys are the biggest & do often get to 4', but most of the others stay around 2' to 3', depending on locale. Males are usually smaller, as well.

Here is our girl Tank sleeping in her blanket. Yes, she has her own blanket and a heating blanket. The second photo is of my son Kale and Tank as she woke up.
Then the last photo, that's our male snapping turtle(Napoleon) he's just now getting adjusted to life on the Ranch. I weighs in at 3 lbs and is for the most part uncontrollable.
If not held correctly he drives his nail into you. Hoping someday to hatch little snappers.

Pretty turtles My snakes have a favourite blanket that I take out for them to sleep in and crawl around in when they're on my bed Our dogs also had blankets. Our old dog Scooby had the same blanket the snakes like. Lots of memories with that blanket.

Here's one of our baby Painted Turtles out for some sun. These days are coming to an end for our little ones.
