re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

Since i don't have my San Frans or my Checkereds any more i thought i would show pics of my only rep left.
This is Puff (as in Puff the Magic Bearded Dragon) He is about two-ish now (i think ) but he is my baby.

This was the pic i was sent before i picked him up, such a little cutie.

This was when i finally got him home. He was about 6 months when i got him.

And this is him out playing in the garden earlier this year.

I will try and take some new pics of him soon.

    both cool lizards
no home should be without a beardie
    and I love cresties too
they don't have eyelids, so they need to lick their eyeballs to keep them moistened and clean

Yeah, lizards are awesome but I kinda got burned out on them since I bred them (sceloporus ssp) for about 10 years. I did enjoy it, but much higher maintenance (and much bigger tanks and expensive equipment) than snakes and I sure love my garters!

Some other people's pics of the lizard species I used to breed and sell to pet stores:

    Clark's Spiny lizard:

    Western Fence Lizard:

    Uta stansburiana (Side-blotched Lizard)

They were loads of fun to watch at feeding and breeding time.

    And one more...

    Sagebrush lizard (sceloporus graciosus)

I had all those. Two females and a male require a minimum 55 gallon long tank and special high-UV lighting and daily feeding of live insects. I had many successful clutches that hatched and thrived. Unfortunately, most people can't even manage to keep them alive, let alone breed them. My only buyers were pet stores. Any that didn't sell, unfortunately sat there and ended up dying 'cause they just didn't care for them properly. That's one of the reasons I just couldn't continue doing it.

I ended up taking all my breeder adults with me on a trip to CA and I released them in appropriate habitat where others of their kind could be seen.
