    Purpose is definitely the wrong word here, it implies intent or planning. Nobody intended for them to be here, it's just how things turned out.

    I love bees -- they make my flowers more beautiful! I work next to bees all the time, and I've only been stung when one got stuck in my clothes, and that was a wasp anyway.

    OLD PICTURES


    habitat shot near my grandparent's farm:


    gravid nerodia sipedons in the lake


    the same snake came out of the water and was very curious about my presence...

    my old leo outside on an elephant ear plant:


    Stubby from about 2 years ago. she was very unhappy with my wanting to take pictures.


    This was seriously the best snake ever. REST IN PEACE SPOOKY! she passed away due to eggbinding in 2005.

    we had a rainy visit to the Dormund zoo yesterday and met this wild guy on the trail
