You didn't mention the 5 kids. Did you send them off already and now you are staying with the animals?

It really ain't looking good, the levies downstream are failing and they will be releasing a lot more water by Wednesday.

If you and the animals can evacuate; get out soon. I commend you for your devotion to your animals; I would not leave mine either.

    Re: Flood Worries

At this time my kids are still with me. 3 of them are heading to church camp today until Thurs.
They are all for staying with dad.
My X keeps scaring them with things like "Wear your life jacket all the time"
Don't get me wrong, their safety is a prime concern.
I'm just proud of my kids and their courage and devotion to our family. They all want to stay as a family and see this thing through.
Safety and common sense will prevail in all my decisions.

Steve have you noticed what the situation is with the wild snakes in the area, have you received more from lower ground or have you perhaps noticed them leaving your area for any higher ground, i am assuming that there is more than a bit of movement of animals in general, still sending most of my our fathers and hail Mary's in your direction.

    Re: Flood Worries

Haven't noticed anything unusual with any of the wildlife in my area. Business as usual for them.
Even my wild radix population is still hanging on at home.

Interesting question PINJOHN. It will be something I watch more closely from now on. Thanks.

I was starting to wonder about the wildlife too. Whether they would start moving away etc...

    Re: Flood Worries

A couple more sections of the levee failed south of my city in Missouri.
This river isn't giving anyone a break.
I also heard that more of I-29 is closed. They have also closed my exit.
I'm getting concerned that they know something about this part of the levee. Hope I'm wrong.
I'll be making some phone calls in the morning.

Heavy rains moving into the area for the night. GREAT.

Sounds like it might be a plan to start moving stuff upstairs if you have the room? Wish I lived nearby to be able to hold onto some stuff for ya while this is happening Steve, scary stuff & hope it all comes to pass with nothing more than some stress & worry.
In our thoughts my friend, sending all the best vibes we can your way
