Question about rosy reds, flatheads, minnows

Okay I am a tad bit confused. Rosy Reds are bad, flat heads are bad. But minnows are ok?

Okay, when I look them up, they have rosy red minnows, also known as flatheads..

So what is actually the best fish(live) to feed? I only feed worms & pinkies. Just wondering, since Aundrea's Garter is sick, I am thinking it's the minnows she got from the petstore. Cause that is pretty much all he ate, except a few times she got him to eat a pinkie

    Thank you...
    Stephanie

Feeder Guppies. Or of you have acces to them, you can use blacknose dace. I catch them outside quite often.

Minnow is a terminology used to describe many small fish.

Blacknose dace are also called minnows.

Found a really nice little aquatics store that gets me feeder guppies for 8 cents each in quantities of 200 (until the water thaws and I can net dace again.

The water snake, ribbons and a couple fussy easterns are the only ones that still prefer to hunt live prey.

Well hes still hanging in there. He is not himself. Usually when I come up to the tank he gives me a sneeky look and if I get too close then he slids away really fast. Now he just hangs there when I come up to the tank I really hope he pulls thru. Im really upset. Hes my first garter and very attached to him. Even tho he dosent like to be handled much I still love him. Hope he makes it

true, but seeing as the term minnow can describe both safe, and unsafe fishes, I prefer to not use the term minnow, ever, because newcomers may very well accidentally associate all minnows as being a good thing. Seeing as the only minnow really sold at pet stores is a bad one.... that association is not one I want to create.
