Great looking group. The black mexican king is awesome. How did you train them to shed all at the same time. I must know!

    you know how it is
a bunch of snakes living together, after a while their shed cycles synchronize
you see them all hanging out together in the moss hut (damp hide)

    thanks for your nice comments
I love my snakes, and although I often covet ones I see, essentially I'm very happy with the ones I've got and there's not that much on my wishlist

Re: Rhea's garters and the occasional other beast

I have been so goofing off today, and you guys get to see the results

Thing shed this morning and so I had to take some pics

then I decided to try an experiment and put Whizzy and Slither, the other two parietalis, who'd been taken out of brumation a couple of days ago, in a fresh tank, and to add Thing once she was done shedding

Whizzy and Thing have housed together off and on since infancy
when I first put Thing into the enclosure, both of the others went nuts a little
then a bunch of stuff happened in relatively quick succession - every time I came back up after loading pics, the scene had changed

first it was the girls hanging out

then the girls kind of chilled and he was very active

next time I look he's with Whizzy

so, I thought this was pretty much it

Ooooh, Layla is gorgeous!!! Thing looks great all shiny & new, too

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

Re: Rhea's garters and the occasional other beast

in the meantime the internet crashed on my computer, but the saga continues
    yes
next time I look, Thing's out of the cave, and Slither getting very twitchy all over her, and you're only being spared the blow-by-blow pictorial, because I severely underexposed those pics, whereupon I overexposed the next batch a little to compensate

    now that seems pretty clear

he was pretty firmly attached, while she was whipping around all over the place

and now it's all over - a quickie, I guess
