My son's 6th grade class lost a Radix they where keeping as a class pet. 1 month later it showed up on a counter. They will surprize you.

sorry to hear that! with winter here...they might not try to get outside....keep on looking!!! I sealed my critter room so there are no cracks, nooks, or crannies (after my only albino red sider escaped and the neighbor kids killed it....
) my kids are the only ones allowed in my critter room, no friends unless I am here and go in with them....I tell them it's my critter room, not a zoo.
