A lot is going to depend on the current disposition of the Ackies themselves, from what I perceive by reading the advertisement, they are adults already, so you have already missed out on the chance of raising them to be accustomed to you as their caretaker.

Lizard leashes are rather cheap, so it would not hurt to try, They may already be completely adjusted to human interaction.

From what I gather on the monitor forums, the camp is divided there about handling just the same as it is with snakes, Some keepers say do not handle them, let them be monitors, if you want a dog, go get one.

And others will say that you should handle and interact with them every day (I take this side obviously) however it has been observed that monitors are rather social animals, and Chomper is a solitary captive, so we are his interaction

I am going to contact Frank Reets at Goanna ranch, he has some excellent photos of his MANY monitors interacting in great ways.

Cool, then your chances are far better of "Bonding"

Chomper is out roaming the house right now.

Congrats Reed!!! The Ackies are adorable!!!

More Pugets? How old/big are these two? And potential future anery red-sideds? Awesome! You know we're going to want pictures when they arrive, right?

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

If I intended to keep anything other than Garters (which I don't), these would be very high on my wish list.

Do you guys think a 4'x2'x2' cage is good for them as adults?
