    Re: Shannon's Snakes Photo Thread

    there you go... nice snakes!!!

Here is a little teaser regarding the red necked keelbacks I brought home on saturday! When I brought them home they both had dry shed issues, and were slightly dehydrated. A good soak fixed both of those issues and they looks MUCH better, fatter, happier! They are ZOOMING around their 20 long and thy looked ready to eat today. They both ate for me tonight, they each had a small aquatic frog, 3 feeder guppies, and half a BIG blacknose dace. They ate this stuff right off the tongs. These snakes are NOT shy about eating at all, they didn't do any of the flinching or twitching and even chased my tongs for more!! These snakes are off to a great start in my collection and I am going to offer them scented pinks in a few days which I doubt they will refuse! Here are three pics, in two of them the male is still swallowing:

I liked this photo because it shows off the intense yellow between the scales:

Just LOOK at that beautiful snake! I am so proud of myself for spotting these

I'm proud of you too, Shannon - and envious
they kind of look unreal - not something I would ordinarily like, but they've got all my favourite colours

Good looking little buggers. What is the species? Love the flicks of yellow in the back.

These snakes are identical to garter snakes in shape and personality! Their species name is rhabdophis subminiatus.
