Re: Its oh so quiet Shh Shh

    Oh, dear........
Rhea, Wayne & Stephanie, so sorry to hear about all the rotten luck.
I wish I had something cheerful to say, but unfortunately, tonight I logged on to get some moral support myself.
I just found out my uncle is dying. My mom went to see him on Monday, and they found him in a diabetic coma. We've been hoping all week that he'd pull out of it, but today they did an MRI and found extensive brain damage. He's not going to come out of it at all.
It's one of those things that we knew would happen one day, due to the severity of his illness, but it still seems so unfair. He's not that old, and he's had so much hurt and suffering in his life. He lived alone, and my family kind of took him under our wing and made sure he had people to be with on holidays and the like. And for the last few weeks, it appeared he was finally going to find some contentment. He'd found a girlfriend, and was talking about travelling with her, and seemed so hopeful for the future. Now this.
I just can't help but feel he got cheated somehow, and the worst part is that we're all just sitting here powerless to do anything.

Thanks so much, Steph. I really had a hard time getting on here and reaching out. I'm much better at comforting others than asking for it myself, but I've been so restless thinking about it that I figured sharing just might make for good therapy.

I am so sorry about your uncle, and that he doesn't have more time to enjoy the contentment he was finding
kind of nice he got to have this hopeful time though

I helps to talk... My Mom has had 2 surgeries, due to cancer. One cancer I am worried about it her Lymphoma Cancer. She did Radiation for a month a year or so. Then they found more in her uterus, had to have it all removed. then just last month they found a lump in her throat. It's cancer again. But it's slow pacing. Still, my MOM is my life, my best friend!

I don't go to church, I did... but I am a praying kinda gal, I pray for alot of things, most of the time it works!! I have always been one of those ppl who listen, & comfort others too, not the one who usually asks for sympathy!

    anytime Anji!!

Lymphoma.........I lost a dear friend to that one. But, it is an unpredictable cancer, and it can go into remission over and over again. She had it in her twenties, and made it for another 30 years before it got really aggressive. I will keep your mom in my thoughts. I hope she is one of the lucky ones! My mom had cancer 10 years ago, and the thought of losing her was horrible. I hope you don't have to go through that anytime soon, Stephanie. Hugs.
