I live in Benton arkansas. i will just let the worms go in the yard. no one i know is going fishing. it seriously took me a couple of days to find a site dedicated to garters. thats why i've bought all the wrong things.
How can i tell what breed of garter i have? I 'think' he's a texas garter but i'm not sure. its the one that looks most like him.

I will as soon as i have a camera. I have photos of hiim but they are on my phone and i don't know how to transfer them. My avatar is pretty much identical and the pic of that snake says its a texas garter.

Most of us go through a trial and error period with our snakes. Of course it's nice when all the research is done beforehand, but I know that's not how I started out My kids said, "Can we keep it? Plllllleeeeaaaase?" Then the learning began. That first one is still here 6.5 years later and I've added a couple more recently Stick around, you'll get the hang of it!
