a darkroom - that seems so archaic now
and yet, good old-fashioned silver-based photography is the best way to learn about light and to experience the wonder of chemistry/magic of alchemy

I've owned several digital cameras over the years and never was very happy with them, but this one I bought just a few weeks ago is absolutely awesome.

Not only does it take outstanding quality pictures and HD video, but it's also a cinch to use. Really easy, very intuitive and uncluttered interface. I love it.

Nikon coolpix S6000 14.2 megapixels, 7X optical zoom, 1280 X 720p HD video with stereo sound. Under $300.

I highly recommend it, even for "dummies". No lessons required.

Add a 8GB SD card and you can take lots of HD (720p) video too. Simply awesome.
