Isn't it possible to keep infernalis instead of the tetra's? I find them certainly equally nice looking... They resemble them a lot, they just are just striped differently... (There are even people suggesting that they should not really be 2 different subspecies... )

Yeah, with this (sub)species, I'm not taking any chances either. Besides, he's a year younger than the females, but they should be big enough in the spring of 2010.

Yes, we can keep infernalis....they are next on my wish list!!! But the longitudinal (sp?) stripes of the tetras are so very eye-catching!

Indeed, I try to point that out every time somebody wants a tetrataenia. Not to people on this forum, though.

People on YouTube keep contacting me about the tetrataenia. Some to ask whether I breed them, others to point out that "G&F is gonna be on ur *** LOL. HIGHLY illegal.".

Yeah, no kidding... sigh... I'm 2 to 3 hours from the few who are left. I'm going to give it my best next spring... I haven't been around that long, but haven't seen many of our bay area posters talk about ever seeing them in the wild... definitely worrisome

That is exactly why I was so pissed off when Inferno died.

Infernalis are not all that easy to get, Scott Felzer sells out quickly, and they are expensive.

Will certainly get another this spring from him, hopefully a pair (even if I have to start saving up now)

He was a non feeder that started eating, but then ate one of those petco fish that killed $300 worth of garter snakes.

I will NEVER purchase another feeder fish from that dump again...
