    Cool Sphinx pupa! Guess I hadn't expected to see sphinx moths from Finland...must not have thought about the possibility. We have some really neat ones around here.

    Nice photos. Do you see white-tailed eagles much?

    Well, I think it's a Sphinx pinastri. The location was right and the pupa looks right. I found one exactly like it once long ago in a similar area, that I kept until it hatched and a S. pinastri came out of that one.

    Nice photos. Do you see white-tailed eagles much?
    I've seen a few this year, but not this close. They were nearly wiped out once, but they're recovering and are becoming pretty common. This was the first one I've seen in this particular area.
