nice collection, i know we kind of got off on the wrong foot. but i see you have watersnakes. i have 5 babies left over from a previous breeding project . anyway im looking to give them good homes. there very tame, dont try to bite or spray. eat very well. id like to sell them all at one time. im only asking 50.00$ for all 5 including shipping. they sell on kingsnake for about 15.00$ a piece. heres some pics.... oh yeah there florida banded watersnakes.

hey shannon, i dont think those are fitchi (i might be wrong) but ive never seen a fitchi with a full red head, looks like a red spotted garter mixed with something else, the side markings just dont look fitchi like

I had a male from Idaho with a complete red head....I'd say fitchi...red spots have no side stripe, black going to blue bellies...

I was thinking the same as Reed, and my peterson field guide lists head colors of black brown or dark grey. Not that it couldnt be wrong. Ca.herps says they might have "some red of sides of heads" Very nice either way, but I was thinking maybe they came from near where infernalis range meets fitchi range, and have some infernalis influence.
Don, maybe this is a locality thing ?

could be.....but pretty much every fitchi I have caught has red on the head......
