So... Now NY is over run with tree frogs. But they can't live as there's not enuff for them to eat. The snake population will go up, and then crash when this guy quits putting the frogs out there. Then there's the foxes, eagles, birds, whatevers dependent on the snakes...

What program are you working with to save these frogs? State? University? That's pretty awesome.

I don't think, sir, you have any idea of the meaning of conservation. You're hiding behind that in order to justify your means.

Are there FL Blues in NY?

And someone as important as you, saving FL's indigos, must have some write up on this. That's really good you're doing that! Why has not the herp community heard of you with all the work you do with tree frogs and indigos?

Who is this troll, and how/why is he still antagonizing a group that he obviously does not share the same philosophy with???????? Don't you have some "conservation" to do?

Hi Memnoch. Rather than throwing out names, I would just like to give my 2 cents on this.
When you make a basic statement on a snake forum that you overcollected a large number of snakes from 1 habitat, it should be expected to get some negative remarks back. We know nothing about you, and the intial reaction we should have is that collecting that many snakes is excessive- because it is. The only reason to collect that many from one spot is if that spot is getting bulldozed soon.
In the future, you might want to give the full story upfront.
Furthermore, I have nothing against legally collecting an animal here or there- I do it too, but I firmly believe that those who want to sell captive bred should collect a few, then breed up a collony from that and work for there money like the other responsible breeders. You might think you are helping the populations by breeding those females, but you are also removing them from the habitat while they should have been out there breeding on there own- even if you do put them back. There temporary stay in captivity is still enough to decrease their chance of survival back in the wild. In the long term, you would help them out much more by leaving 22 of them alone and breeding up a trio into a colony and only getting new blood as required to prevent inbreeding. I am suprised that there is not a bag limit on snakes in your state.
I am curious about the indigoes though. Out of curiosity why would someone release 50,000 dollars worth of snakes, and is it legal for you do release them ? I know you care about them, but lets face it, that is a lot of money's worth of snakes(you are talking of eastern indigoes right?). I care about my natives too, but if I could legally sell captive bred for that kind of money, you bet I would. I know you have the breeding permit, but do they allow releasing into the wild? I ask because the law in my state says no releasing of any captive animals back into the wild, for fear of introducing foreign diseases.
Also, there is a certain level of respect that should be used when entering a forum as a new member, and you do need to work on that.

friggin please. this is one of those little clicky forums, ill find another one with a more open minded approach to the whole concept of what im trying to say. good luck with your social club. to answer you r question about the indigos. its not always about the money. my project is funded through one of our state parks here. the breeding actually takes place in the parks facilitys. i am personaly in charge of it. the snakes bred are then taken to diffrent parks throughout the state. and your statement about long term side affects are completly wrong. but im not gonna get into that. ive wasted enough time on here as it is. anyone in the tampa area is welcome to come see the project at ,sawgrass park in pinellas county.

For the record, as far as "clicky" I have only seen one newcomer not fit in, and that is you. It is due to your attitude.
