    Repeat shedding

I have noticed in the last couple of months that all my garters (4) have been shedding about once a month and the smaller one twice. Has anyone else noticed this with any of their snakes and especially if they have garters.

It's not due to mitts which I thought it would have been as all get a good swim once a month and I check the water for floaters and such like.

Any other Garter keepers want to get in touch and swap info, please feel free to message me. :P

Andi, they must be growing quickly. How old/big are they? My babies shed that often, but the adults are usually once or twice per summer. All four shed within a couple of days earlier this month. That was cool

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

I have seen some varied shed patterns.. if they are young, it's nothing to worry about.

    Re: Repeat shedding

Hi guys and thanks for your replies, the ages of the snakes are 3yrs 2' 2@2yrs 16" and the baby only 1yr 9". They are looking very healthy and eating very well so i am not worried but was wondering if it was due to our wet weather this year. I have not changed their habitat at all. I think the 3yr old female may even be gravies, god help me if she is.

My juvenile kings (lampropeltis) shed about once a month and they seem to be pretty healthy.

We have one snake (Non garter) a Cyclophiops Major that sheds every month, He eats like crazy for 3 weeks, goes off feed, sheds, then resumes pounding food every day.

He is docile, unless I miss a day, then he gets cranky and will bite.

Make sure he doesn't have any scale rot or anything like that and if not he should be fine.
