Re: Thamnophis.com World Meeting
Rochester is about 60-80 minutes away.
Interstate 390 travels southwest to interstate 86, outside Bath NY, then you are only 20 miles away.
The zip code is 14812 here, the name of the town is Beaver Dams, NY
My maps at DIRECTIONS to ROCKY ROOST are quite accurate.
Google search, Watkins Glen, and see what the area has to offer.
Finger lakes trail passes very close to my house, and a bunch of the woods are very quiet, there is tons of little brooks and streams, and the nerodia population is very healthy, I encounter them frequently.
I have a (older) camper (motor coach) that has 3 beds available, 2 extra sofas, and several places to pitch camp.
For those who want to camp, and travel light, just get an inexpensive sleeping bag and we will donate it to a local children's camp when you leave, as opposed to try and carry such a bulky thing on a plane.
I have a friend right up the street with a graphic studio who could make T shirts as a souvenir.
Regards,
Wayne A. Harvey

Lulu, My understanding at this point on a date was last week of June or fist week of July of 2009. I do still plan on attending.

Ooo, I had stopped looking at this thread since I knew NC was out of the question. But at Waynes place, just 1 hour away it is so do-able!! The only complication may be if it is during the time my daughter's 4H Exchange Club is hosting a club from Montana....we shall see.
