Re: How about some pics of your other pets

Damn, forgot to take pictures and I already put it in its terrarium to calm down. I'll see if I can get a picture later today. It's an '06 anery female, I'd say she's about 20-25", although I haven't had the chance to measure her yet. The biggest of the bunch. Apparently they sexed it by popping, so I can't be 100% sure it's a female.

Ameivaboy...I'm sure I've seen your Tupinambis photos before somewhere. Are you a member of theTegu forum? Nice Argentine, by the way.

We recently bought 3 different colors of crayfish. Really nice animals to see.

Wow! Do they occur naturally in those colours? The blue one is amazing.

I also like the blue ones a lot, James. They're also very curious and will eat everything that I give them out of my hand. But it's important to not overfeed them, becouse then there shedding can not keep up with there growing.

The natural color of the procambarus clarkii is braun-redish. So these nice colors are selected breeding results.

Wow those crayfish are just awesome !! All of you folks actually have some very cool looking animals !!

James, I kept Corns along with Garters for awhile. Until about a year ago, I had some yearling Gold Dusts/het motley which were beautiful but as you implied ... Corns are just not Garters, lol ... The Corns are plently happy in sweater box racks. I tried housing Corns (one at a time but several individuals), in a really nice, big display enclosure. They only came out when they wanted to feed and were so totally docile that my Mom ( at 85 & having never seen a 'live' snake before ) held 4ft adults casually. I suspect being so far removed from WC animals adds to their less then enthusiastic demeanor.

Garters on the other hand seem to possess/reflect individual 'personalities' for lack of a better term and also have an intense, hunter type facial expression to match ...

    enjoy the evening ...

Those are some nice one's Gijs&Sabine, very nicely colored.

A little question: why are they all seperate? Are they aggressive to each other? And is it ok to put them in cilinders (as I've always been told that fish go nuts in it? (I'm a total noob about it, as you probably notice by the questions.)

Very eloquently put. That's what I'd like to have said, but I'm borderline illiterate!!

Your crayfish are just awesome, Gijs & Sabine! I grew up catching wild ones to use as fishing bait. They were always either orangish red or brown, but nowhere nearly as vividly colored as your orange one. You must have a great home!

I've always wanted to eat a bucket full of them, but all I've had are lobster and crab (hey, I can sort of rhyme).
