    Here are the New Guys!!

So, Hamburg was a good show. It was what I consider a major blessing, actually. In so many ways. It counteracted much of the bad, horrible things that happened to me snake-wise in the past month (my female grayband dies "in her sleep", my young FL blue female dies unexpectedly, Po, the little BP with the prolapse passed away)

    So, here we go!

The 1.2 checkereds I was to pick up, actually turned out to be 2.1 Sirtalis. I was a little bummed, but I still took them, he really, honestly thought they were checkered's! But, sirtalis wise, I actually need the males, and they are very pretty! I apologize ahead of time for the crappy photo's today, I partied WAY to hard last night. Here is the female, the males are almost identical to her.

I helped him sex his albino checkered's, and after that I picked up the three of these little Ribbon intergrades. Here is the only one that would hold still, and ONLY because she was SO MAD!!! They are grumpy!!!

I also snagged the only other garter I saw (besides the one table that always has hordes of concinnus), she is an adult female FL blue, finally, a mate for my male and a steal at just $20.

Re: Here are the New Guys!!

I got a little more than I bargained for! An hour after I got home, I was getting ready to introduce her, and I looked down and there was a squiggly in there!! Uh oh!!! I grabbed the baby bowl (white bowl I use for taking pics of litters) and headed for the kitchen. It was very neat, my entire family and boyfriend got to watch 19 more born over the next half hour! All 20 are live and BIG, and healthy. I lost my little female last week, and now look what I have! Doesn't the female look great for jsut having birthed 20?!

Also, as I was working in the snakeroom, My "blueish" female sirtalis gave birth.... to a bunch of "blueish" little ones!!! I don't recall if I have shown her to you before or not, my little brother brought her to me insisting that she is special and that we keep her. He found her lying in the field dehydrated. She was far from water. I nursed her with spoons of water and now she fares well! That is the second snake that I have nursed with a spoon after my brother's finding of them. The amazing thing is that most of her litter is a blueish gray, they don't have much color at all!!! And they are BIG for sirtalis babies. They are the same size as my remaining three-week-olds. For some reason, she only had half last night, this morning I watched her birth 9 or so more and a jelly bean or two that were not included in the following pictures. Two or three of them are grayish blue with BRILLIANT red eyes, the contrast is stunning and I didn't get any pictures of that yet. Here are some photos. The camera really did not capture their blue hues at all.

notice how one of them sticks out because he has color! Are these possibly Silvers?

Here are two next to a "normal" for comparison.

Here is the whole clutch (well, what was born yesterday and not today) with that same normal thrown in. The other one with color is just an oddball.

Re: Here are the New Guys!!

I also picked up two not-garters (cause not all snakes can be garter snakes) at the show. I never expected to come across an adult female grayband... they are SO rare in the trade anymore. I walked up to buy her, but they guy standing next to me was working out a deal on her at that exact moment. But then, he had a change of heart and allowed me to take her!!! It is a real blessing after suddenly losing my dear female that I raised from a "hatchling male". She was under her hidey box, curled up sleeping, except dead. Well, here is the new girl...

Not-garter number two is a female Blonde Pastel BP. Seeing as I bought the female grayband... I did not have the cash to get her any more. I went back to the table just to see if there was anything else I could get ahold of, he had some possible het pieds. She was priced at $150. He asked me if i was still interested and I said no I am sorry we only have 90 dollars left. I got a major surprise when he actually let me have the snake for just 90 dollars. I was stunned! that a vendor at that show could be so kind!!! After about an hour... I ran into my cousin and borrowed 20 dollars and I ran over to him and gave it to him and thanked him repeatedly (he was equally stunned and thankful at me coming back and handling him 20 extra dollars). I just could not take that snake for so low without showing him that I appreciated the deed. It's a female also... here she is.

I also took the opportunity to photograph a a few select snakes today before leaving. So here are some random snake update shots!

first, here is Sledge, my valentines day present has grown up so well!!! He is SUCH a cutie pie!! we named him sledge because I already told eddie that we are not naming our child that (His last name is Hammer)

Here is Radish, named for my mom's misunderstanding of me saying MOM I FINALLY GOT A RADIX!... you got a radish??? what?? She has doubled in size already!!! she eats so well!!!

Now here is my parietalis, whom I definitely beleive to be a male. he and the radix came together, but have been separated because they are not really both female and I don't want accidents!

Thanks all for looking at what I think is my worst batch of photos ever!! hangovers and photography dont mix!

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.
