Thanks everyone! BTW, The mother is doing fine today, she has eaten 3 rats this morning & probly feels alot better now that she does not have babies in her stomach.

I apoligize about the one pic that was on there earlier. I uploaded the wrong one & was in such a hurry I did not notice. I was up til 3:30am dealing with the clutch. Thanks again to the moderators on the best forum on the net!

I think I've been programmed pretty well to be afraid of rattlers. As much as I'm learning to love snakes I just can't quite wrap my mind around these little guys. There's a part of me that thinks they're cute and another part that gets chills down my spine... guess it's a healthy fear, but still a weird feeling.
I'm so glad you posted that, Tami. I can hardly look at those rattle snake pics. I'm totally terrified of them.

No need to be terrified, Gertie... respect is sufficient. Rattlesnakes are as beautiful and fascinating as any other group of snakes, they have some of the most intricate scale patterns around, and are perfectly adapted for their specific niche.
Maybe follow Jerry's threads? Maybe learn to appreciate these wonderful animals, in the way you now do Garters?
