    they're both the same
    she's a very cool snake
interestingly, both Sean and I assumed she was a male
Sean ended up probing her several times before he changed his mind
how do we make these assumptions?
is it based on looks or vibes?
I'm sure most of us do it sometimes

Rhea, she is beautiful! Congrats! How is the blue ribbon snake????

I kept meaning to tell you guys this, and you reminded me. One of my friends who lives on the York river has been INUNDATED this year with black rat snakes. I mean, you can literally stand in her yard and every few minutes see one move. They are in the rafters in her barn!!! She has been furious because they've eaten all her barn swallows, which she babies. Unfortunately, I keep forgetting to bring my camera over there (she's close to where I work, not where I live so I've been stopping by on the way home from work).

She said they've never had so many before. Wonder what that's all about???

whenever conditions favor, population bursts are common.

Once they have wiped out all the food supply, they will either move on or pass on.

Nature works in cycles, one harsh winter will wipe out a huge number of snakes, the food source now has very little predation, so the food prey will have a population explosion.

Then the surviving snakes will produce litters, with all that food the babies have no competition for food, so the mortality rate for the babies will go down, allowing the population to explode.

The snakes will wipe out all the food, and then the cycle can repeat.

Lori! Just remind her that some of us here WISH we could find hot spots like that and would have a ball! lol! Lucky...

But Wayne certainly has a point.

Just thought I would offically share since I cant seem to get around to posting photo threads.. *rolls eyes*
    In two weeks I've gotten:
2.3 Wandering Garters, 3 are possible hets fer hypermelanistic with a bolder checkered pattern and yellow stripe, 1 is the same but not poss het, and one is that reduced pattern steel grey girl I posted.
0.1 Female Checkered A very nice one at that!
    0.1 Oregon Red Spotted
1.1 Asian Vine Snakes, Aheatulla Nasuta, rear fanged, skinny little binoculer eyed, cool little snakies. =)
1.1 Redstripe Ribbons. Gorgeous CUTE guys. =)
And I 'aint stoppin there! lol!
I will be purchasing 0.3 Adult Female Puget Sounds to go with my male, and hopefully 1.1 of those cute little flame babies. =)
And I am still looking for 0.1 Western Ribbon and 1.0 Oregon Red Spotted. *hint hint* =D
But I am just super excited because I am finally in the position where I can do this breeder thing. lol!
Right now I have I think... 3 gravid garters? Two wanderings and a checkered? Just waiting "patiently". lol!

that blue ribbon is doing great so far - hasn't eaten yet - probably not a good breeder option though because of the kink in the lower spine
I do have an '07 male oregon red spot available
he eats f/t fish and once recently expressed vague interest in a pinky
