    Shedding question

Is it normal for a shedding garter to be come a bit mellow? It seems like our new snake was really active and today her eyes were foggy and she a pretty mellow today... She had a fish two days ago... As you will see from my last two comments she is new and this is new to our family. Please help.

    Thank you! Andrea

    Re: Shedding question

its natural my garters do that also and when there eyes get pale that means that there about to shed ( the also shed skin off there eyes)and they just like to lye around because they need all the energy they need when they have to get rid of there old skin

Generally they get quiet and mine will stay in their hides when they are very close. Usually they don't eat, but then again, one of mine does. Right after the shed they are usually pretty hungry again, in my experience.

yes Shanley they will be scared if you are there or walk pass when they have eye-caps on because you appear to be a big blur to them, but generally they will stay hiding unless basking, and just be mellow......remember they're always exceptions.......................
