    They scattered, except for the eastern (that I grabbed for the pix) and the milksnake which spent a short time attached to the end of my finger.

    Well it's not too hard (especially if it is cool). I handle them as gently as possible at first, then try to cup them in my hands, one hand over the other. It is dark and warm in there and after a little while they usually settle down, and when I take my hand away they will (sometimes) sit there long enough for a pix.
