    I suppose it is possible. I always just thought they explored in all the little tunnels around the foundation. I know that they brumate in an old unused shallow well next to the house (well at least the garters).

    That is so cool!! They just crawl right out of the rock..........
    I know it has it's disadvantages, but I still wish I had a magic basement!!

    My old house's basement was "magic"... it spawned SO many spiders...
    Mother of many snakes and a beautiful baby girl! I am also a polymer clay artist!

    If you take a close look at the photo you can see the evidence of the spiders that my basement also spawns!

    Well, it's time for the snakes to start looking for their winter hidey spots. These two were looking in the wrong place...





    The milksnake I moved outside (it is still warm enough). The garter I couldn't reach, so I hope it went back outside on its own...I will keep my eyes open in the basement in case it didn't.
