    I meant because I can only collect food for about 4-5 months of the year. The rest of the time it's too cold to find slugs or worms.

    I actually managed to get that picture after his soak and squish session the other day!! Even when sick he's still photogenic...........he's such a good snake!

    That could be hard for you, but it's amazing how easy it is to keep a slug colony going all winter. They breed like demon spawn!!

    Have you tried leopard slugs Stefan? They grow huge and crank out eggs, which garters can also eat, not to mention they live long and are easy to keep...

    Thanks everyone! He is cute, and he's such a good little snake..........I'm quite attached to him. Even my husband keeps saying how much he likes the little guy!

    Nope. There aren't many of them over here.
