Bump...
Tomorrow, I will be trading two of my corns for an albino checkered garter snake. She's 2 feet long. The previous owner says that she developed a small bump a tad way down her body that grew as she grew. He says she's a reluctant feeder, and he's been feeding her goldfish. I'm a little concerned; I haven't seen the snake yet but know that she's been in good hands. What could the bump be? I plan on breeding her, but if it's genetic I won't.
Thanks!

Re: Bump...
My advice, such as it is.... never buy/swap a snake with any bumps, illnesses, kinks, legs etc. Especially if you know it's been on an inappropriate diet.
I'd pass on this one if I were you, Kyle.

Re: Bump...
And I'd rescue her and treat her and make her all better. :-) The bump could be a parasite... do you have a reptile vet that you use that you could take her to? Since her history is iffy, might be a good idea to get a once-over done and check a fecal anyway...
LOL James, I just registered what you wrote: come on, what's wrong with snakes with legs?!

Re: Bump...
there's a difference between rescuing and buying/trading
which is it you're wanting to do, Kyle?
I'd be reluctant to trade two perfectly good snakes (assuming) for one with an unknown bump
and when you say that she's been in good hands . . .
how do you know that?

Re: Bump...
Well, I did the trade today. No sign of any bump, and she looks great!
Pics later. :P

Beautiful snake! And everything looks just fine.............funny the previous owner would tell you differently.

Re: Bump...
Definitely. She has a great personality too, very gentle, but a tad bit flighty.
If I plan on breeding her, I'm gonna have to get her nice n' fat.
Guess who's getting an all-you-can-eat buffet tonight? :P
EDIT-
MY only concern is that she's 2 years old and only 2 feet... Maybe the extra mice protein will help pump her growth.
