I'll be Faramir, unrecognised and under appreciated hero........he also gets a girl (even if she can't cook!)... although my wife thinks I should be Gollum.... "What's 'taters', precious?"

Let's see... I'm built like Gimli (but no beard) ... I'm as old as Bilbo when Frodo meets him again at Rivendell... and I tend to do things that were not common to my gender when I was young, like Eowyn.

Yeh, the Silmarillion (thanx for the spelling correction, always screw that up!) was a really hard read. Haven't read Unfinished Tales, but good to hear that someone liked it. It always worries me when a relative puts out some stuff, just after the original stuff becomes popular.

I didn't find the difference between the two books to be that big. Both are barely readable.

"Unfinished Tales" isn't new.... I read it maybe 12 or 15 years ago! It's written by JRR, but edited and 'finished' by Christhopher.

My favorite short story by JRR Tolkien is "Leaf, by Niggle".

There are many movies that I would not have seen had they not included Jonnie Depp. Actually, pretty much all his movies.
