    Re: HORRIBLE news...

Sorry for your loss Kyle. I think this is a good time though to reiterate to everyone that if you have a setup with rocks, large waterdishes or anything else really heavy (remember, really heavy compared to a little snake's strength) that it is sitting on the actual bottom of the cage so that the snake can not undermine it and get crushed. We've seen it happen here twice now and I've seen it happen before many times from people when I worked at the pet store. Also if you have any rocks or such stacked up or leaning on something, make sure they're secure. Use a little epoxy or aquarium sealant to secure them.

    And, with sadness comes joy!
Today, one of our fellow members who I'd talked to a while ago, Jasuncle, PM'd and reminded me that he has 7 lovable easterns for me. I am, of course, overjoyed at this. For all those who experience a tragedy, *and I'm not trying to sound religious here. :P*, just remember, God will provide. ^^

    Re: HORRIBLE news...

awwwe, wow, I'm sorry to hear that. I have lost a garter to injury before. I lost my first ever albino checkered garter to a tragic accident. I had just fed her, and rinsed her off, put her back in the cage... and still... the other garter went for her. It grabbed her right by the tummy, and she'd still be alive today if she hadn't belly rolled....

She freaked out when the other snake grabbed her and did one of those 360 degree rolls. Well, in the process, this caused the other snakes teeth to rip off not just her skin, but her muscle too, all the way around the snake in a circle. Her organs and everything were exposed

    I'll end it at that.
