Isn't that Trimeresurus purpureomaculatus? Yeah, everyone should have one of those!

sorry should have been more specific, this is the colorless red-sided photo i was talking about, now that i look at it it looks more like a radix, but wouldn't a radix still be cheaper than buying this red-sided morph?
PS: Don, great lookin snake, that one is definetly worth paying the extra bucks for.

It used to be. Trimeresurus got chopped up. In 2004, I believe.

It did? I really need to keep up to speed with taxonomic changes. So what is T. purpureomaculatus called now? Have they messed with T. popeorum and T. albolabris too?

Cryptelytrops, at least for albolabris and purpureomaculatus. I don't know about the rest.

edit: it seems that popeorum got its own genus, Popeia.

They did the same to Bothrops without telling me! The arboreal species are now Bothriopsis or Bothriechis.

    Re: genetics question

Hi I have a 100% het axanthic radix and lately I've been noticed that her stomach and side-stripes have became very greenish. Is this because of her hidden genes or is this typical even with normal radix?

you can get a lot of colour morphs in corn snakes and breeders are always trying to come up with something new, i for one have never been interested in breeding them but ive seen some beautiful examples

My opinion.... man-made morphs are poo. No matter how hard we try, or how clever we think we are, we will never match the beauty of nature.
