    swimming question

whenever i give my snakies a bath they poof and they when i take them out they de-poof and i hear little wisps of air, their head aren't flattened so i don't think they're mad at me, i'm assuming they're filling with air to aid floating/swimming?
    thanks,
    Reed

    Re: swimming question

    Hey Reed,

That's right. What a neat mechanism they have for swimming! If they're in turbulent waters, they just inflate their built-in life jacket (lung) and they're good to go. Really cool, eh?

    Re: swimming question

    Thats correct,
all snakes even those from deserts are good swimmer only by keeping more air in their lungs and moving as usual.

    Re: swimming question

    you can do it too
try to breath in deeply and hold the air in your lungs
you may swim without any moving is needed

    Re: swimming question

You can really see this if you put a couple of inches of luke warm water in the bath and let them have a swim! They practically double in girth!
