I have a 40 gallon breeder tank and was wondering what the max amount of garter snakes that could be housed comfortably. I know at least 2 would be fine but I was wondering if I could house more. I most likely would be housing females together, so taking their size into consideration, how many?

I agree with 2-3. I have two females in a 40 breeder and they're doing well, but I would love to have them in a 75 gallon. You'd be surprised how small a 40 breeder feels after awhile.
