    Smile Hello from Connecticut

I am soon to be a new garter owner - I have a marcianus shipping out tomorrow and a sirtalis pickeringii waiting to be born and shipped. They are two on my wish list and both are female.

I love looking at everyone's snakes and setups and hearing about them. Garters are my favorite as they seem to be more active and come in so many beautiful colors.

I currently have three apricot Pueblan milksnakes (Lampropeltis triangulum campbelli), Tiffany, Sonora and Milton. Sonora's owner no longer wanted her and I was able to get her and bring her home - she is the friendliest of the three snakes. Milton is a new arrival and gave me a scare - I could not find him in his cage and thought he might have escaped but he was hiding in the rim of one of his hides. Tiffany was my first snake and I have her to the point where I can handle her without getting musked. All are young - Tiffany was the oldest, hatched in March; Sonora might have been a May hatch as her owner had her a few months and Milton is a late June hatch.

I now have my very first garter snake, T. marcianus. She is a beautiful baby and is exploring her enclosure, watching me until the dog decided she needed to climb in my lap and then she quietly slithered to the side of her water dish. Her name is Alexa.

She is hiding now... maybe at feeding time she will make an appearance.
