Welcome. First off, you don't have a garter snake. You have a Storeria dekayi- Brown snake. Awesome snake. It's not a Thamnophis but very much welcomed on this page. I'll link you to the care sheet, feel free to ask any question you might have. A couple differences are, Storeria usually doesn't require a heat source( I supply one and let them choose.
