Garter snakes are new to me. I do mostly western hognoses.

I'm down to just one male hognose and a female leopard gecko. Both are much calmer to handle than my little garters used to be.

They all have their own personalities and temperaments. Some tolerate handling more than others. Their main mode of defense is to escape and hide. Oh, some are prone to musking over biting.
