    Newbie from Oregon Hello

Ok hello I've never had a snake I don't know much about snakes. I'm very concerned about my yard snakes. I don't know where to go. I've found 2 dead in a month I don't know why or what to do or where to post?

Can you give us some details about the condition of the snakes when found. It will give some insight about what happened.
    Any photos?

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.

They were both kinda big for garter snakes. The 1st one was shiny and glossy had a small bump. No caps on the eyes. The 2nd was larger had a large bump near the tail it also was shiny and glossy no caps on the eyes. This one had been dead longer something had started eating it. There were no scars on either snakes. Their scales looked good they looked to be in good weight. I couldn't feel their ribs or backbones when I picked them up. Could it have been a blockage? I didn't think to take pictures. I just became more and more concerned about the others in my yard.

Thanks for the info. It's very difficult to determine the cause of death from the limited information available, it would just be speculation at this point. Nice to see someone concerned about the population. Be sure to introduce yourself in the "Welcome Lounge"
