    Baby snake help

Hi I just got a baby garter snake online and over the past few days he has been eating well but I am having some problems handling it. Whenever i try to pick him up he bites me and is always hiding in the bedding. Thanks

You would be the same if a big monster tried to pick you up. Don't worry about holding right now. The little one has been through a lot and needs dome time to adjust. These little one are at the near bottom of the food chain.

I'm assuming this hold true for garter snakes as well, most people recommend to avoid handling new reptiles for two weeks.

Correct, best to let them settle in. Let them acclimate to their new surroundings at their own speed.

What species is it? Some are more prone to biting and being skittish.
