    Hi from St. Louis

I just recently got interested in having garter snakes as pets.I have been trying to catch one in my yard but have only caught two Storeria Dekayi so far. I am glad that I found this forum!! Looking forward to learning all I need to know on how to successfully keep these overlooked snakes as pets.

Nice to have you with us. Here's a link to the care sheet. Any idea what species of garter you have in your area? Feel free to ask all the questions you might have.

Thanks! There are three species in my area. The Western Ribbon, the Plains Garter and the Common Garter. I know I have two of them roaming my backyard but can't seem to nab any. I probably will end up just buying them. Thanks again for the info.
