Relaxed and waiting..
IMG_1623.jpgI observed my 2014 1.0 concinnus in a chilled out pose this morning so I thought I would share it. He ate yesterday but loves to show off. I asked wifey to make sure he was caught with his tongue out.

Cute. Concinnus is one of the species I've always wanted to work with.

lol Space. I'm sharing a 2 bedroom apartment with another person and 20 animals. Given a lot of them are inverts that don't take up a lot of space, but still.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the space. Concinnus is beautiful species but flighty, and the females seem more defensive than males. IMO. I don't find that the adults are inclined to bite at all. But they always seem like they are late for a appointment and want you to know that! I am going to wait another year before I breed these two.

My blacknecks are similar. Except they just generally seem to dislike me. My female will let me hold her just fine, but sometimes she'll very calmly look me in the eye and bite me. Not hard, just enough to say "I'm about done with your foolishness for today".

Oh, now that's funny. Are they western or eastern blacknecks? Don't these guys know you're not supposed to bite the hand that feeds you? Amazing.

Eastern The female is pretty laid back compared to the male. He's always had neurological damage (still don't know if it was from nearly being a ftt baby or if he was nearly ftt because of the neuro issues) and he is just absolutely insane. However his complete inability to judge distance means that he almost never actually lands a bite lol.

concinnus flighty? even my wc isnt flighty they eat from my hand and adult females remind me of dinosours for some reason lol hahaha i have radix with more spunk then them lol any snake hs the potential to be flighty or defensive but it matters how much and how often you interact with them

Re: Relaxed and waiting..
Well , most of mine are in racks and I don't interact with them as much as I should. I breed bp's too and have two clutches of eggs right now in the incubator. But yeah, once they are out they do mellow a bit. These two are a bit flighty though without a doubt. I have never been bit by either one but the female has flattened her head and was very upset a couple of times since I have had them. It's more like they want you to know they are late for a appointment. I actually like it. Remember , these guys have their own personalities too. I think locale has something to do with their innate behavior as well.
