    Hello!

    Hello from South Carolina!

I'm a long time snake enthusiast but I haven't kept any Thamnophis since I was a child. The first snake that my mom and dad allowed me to keep was an Eastern Garter snake. He had a great personality and was extremely docile. I used to carry him around the house in my shirt pocket. He would occasionally peak out but he would stay in the pocket as I did stuff around the house. I remember he got away once and he went into a crack in the wall. I was able to coax him out with a juicy nightcrawler. He came flyin' out with his out mouth agape. He was quite the character. I kept him for several years before he passed. That was over 20 years ago and I've kept many different kinds of snakes since then including many colubrids, pythons and boids. I've always loved Garter snakes because of that Eastern Garter I kept as a child, which I affectionately named Fred, started my interest in this hobby.

I just purchased a baby female T.sirtalis infernalis from Jeff and I'm very excited to receive her. My only regret is that I couldn't buy more of them at this time. =D

    Re: Hello!

Congrats on the new addition, Infernalis are amazing snakes and I can't wait to get mine in about a month either. Awesome story about your childhood and i'm sure many people have similar stories with garter snakes being their first pet.

Welcome, and we are pleased to have you here. Great story. And you jumped right to the top of the list with the acquisition of the infernalis. Great choice!
Stay in peace and not pieces.
