    shedding issue

So my Blue axanthic radix hasn't had a shed in sometime, and then I noticed this. I really don't want to lose this beauty. Please help 20150401_175824.jpg20150401_175804.jpg

Is this is a male? If so, it could be a minor injury from mating or just some crust from fecal matter. A good soak in a warm shed box should help in any event. Then you can take a warm wet cloth and wipe most of it away. How's the behavior? Pooping? Drinking?

A good shed would probably help.

She is a little slugish. She ate 3 pinks on Monday and had no problem passing them. She hasn't had a shed in about 2 months

If the eating and pooping all looks good I wouldn't be too worried. I'd do the warm shed box soaks and see if that vent cleans up a bit. It might take a couple shed cycles to have it back to 100%.

Strange coincidence, my female Blackneck had a partial shed last week. This is her first partial shed in three years. The bottom third didn't release. Tonight I fed her and she ate well. I didn't like the looks of the retained shed so I held her as my wife wiped her down gently with a warm wet rag and we gently picked the remaining shed off. It came off in small pieces but I think we eventually got most if not all off. She didn't seem to mind. In fact she may have enjoyed it. Key word in all of this is "gently".

I've had snakes that would go crazy whenever you held them be pretty calm when you're removing a retained shed or eyecap or something. I think they know when you're helping them.
